Ladies' Season Ends With Loss to No. 1 Seed Texas Lutheran

San Antonio– The No. 4 seed Centenary softball team fell 8-0 in six innings to No. 1 seed Texas Lutheran on Saturday evening as the Ladies' season came to an end in an elimination game of the 2023 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the Trinity University Softball Field.

The Ladies finish their season at 18-24 while the Bulldogs (37-5) stay alive and will face Trinity on Saturday evening in another elimination game.

The Bulldogs took an early 2-0 lead after an inning and added a single run in the third, two more in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth to complete the shutout win. The Ladies were held to just two hits while TLU collected 11. Centenary made three errors and the Bulldogs made one.

The Ladies drew a pair of walks, struck out three times, and left five on base. The Bulldogs walked five times, only struck out once, and left seven on. TLU also stole four bases.

Sophomore P Anna Scarbrock (Alexandria, La.) suffered the loss for the Ladies as she allowed three runs, all earned, and five hits in just 2.1 innings pitched with no walks or strikeouts. She finishes the season at 8-11. Amanda White (13-3) picked up the win for the Bulldogs as she went 4.2 IP and allowed just two hits with two BB and three K. Junior OF Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) and sophomore 3B Viviana Rivero (Redondo Beach, Calif.) each had one hit for the Ladies.
