HOUSTON – No. 22/23 Trinity University Women's Golf took home a second-round 306 (+22) to rally past day-one leader No. 46 Concordia University (TX) for the 2023 Space City Classic crown Tuesday afternoon at the par-71 Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.
The Tigers shaved seven strokes from Monday's opening-round 313, led by the only even round of the tournament from individual champion sophomore
Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino (Marbella, Spain / Atalaya). The All-American opened the day on a torrid pace from the 10
th tee box as she posted birdies on the par-three 10
th, par-four 12
th and par-five 17
th though her three-over mark after the turn settled her into a playoff with Concordia's Julia Moss—a playoff she won by parring the par-four 18
th on the second attempt.
Junior
Erin Flynn (League City, Texas / Clear Falls) matched the Spaniard's six-shot improvement on day two as she finished the second round with a 73 (+2), which advanced her into third overall. With the team leaderboard hotly-contested after the turn, Flynn collected back-to-back birdies on the par-three fifth and par-four sixth to push the Tigers further toward their eventual one-shot victory.
Junior
Kiona Hsiu (Missouri City, Texas / Elkins) aided the late push from Flynn with a birdie on the par-four seventh as she neared the end of her second-round 79 (+8), sealing her place inside the top-10 for the event.

Shelby DeVore said. "The girls have been working hard the past few weeks and it showed at this tournament. We still have some things to work on until our tournament in Phoenix."
