
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Southwestern's stout offense was held in check as the Pirates dropped their SCAC opening weekend to Trinity.
GAME 1: SU 1, TU 9
A flurry of runs in the first inning put Southwestern in a hole they were unable to get out of as they lost their first SCAC contest 9-1 in five innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trinity lead 8-0 through four innings but the Pirates were able to extend the game with one run in the fifth.
- TU matched the effort and scored a run of their own to end the game with a run-rule victory.

GAME 2: SU 6; TU 3
A scoreless first inning gave way to a Tiger three-run third that held up as TU defeated Southwestern.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trinity scored three in the second and steadily added runs to stay just out of reach of the Pirates.
