COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The McMurry University swim teams completed their regular season this past weekend by competing in the Colorado College Classic.

After three days of competition, the McM men finished fourth with 194 points, while the women placed sixth with 172 points.

The War Hawks faced some of their toughest competition of the season, in what was their final tuneup before the SCAC Championships.

Freshman Molly Herrera started the War Hawk women off with a top-five finish Friday evening, taking fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 20:38.59.

The relay team of Jessica Gryder, Abigail Swaim, Herrera and Madelaine Smith set a new season-best time in the 800-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall in 9:43.56. The men's relay team of Alec Satre, Myles Pickens, Dany Baki and Terrin Boehmer did the same, completing the event in 8:01.74.

Highlighting the meet for the men was Boehmer, who took third in the 100-yard backstroke. It was a personal best time for Boehmer, completing the event in 57.92 seconds. Boehmer shaved two-tenths off his preliminary time of 58.16 seconds.

Pickens swam a personal best in the 50-yard freestyle, narrowly missing out on the finals with a time of 23.57 seconds.

McMurry will have nearly a month to prepare for the postseason, with the SCAC Championships set to begin February 12. The championships will run over four days, concluding February 15. The event will be held at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio.
