Celts Breeze Past Arlington Baptist 105-69

Men's Basketball powered past Arlington Baptist here at the JAAC. The Celts breezed past the Patriots on homecoming 105-69.

Freddie Ricks started the game off for the Celts with a three as it propelled a 10-0 run for the Celts to make their lead 13-7. The Celts and Patriots began to trade shots as the Patriots brought the score to 25-21.  A steal and dunk by Nick Anderson lit the flame under the Celts as they went on a large 20-4 run as they went into halftime leading 57-38.

Coming out of halftime Freddie Ricks splashed a three to continue their hot streak from the first half as the Celts took a commanding lead 75-47 as Calvin Williams and Andrew Nguyen hit easy threes since Arlington Baptist could not defend the arc.  A huge block from Adam Kanafani began another 10-4 run to push their lead to 91-59. Near the end of the game the Celts and Patroits begin to trade buckets, but great defensive efforts from freshman Nick Anderson, and Luke Ramirez shuts down the Patriots' offensive efforts.  The freshman Celts got a hot hand as Freshman Angel Johnson, and Eren Erten add on to the lead to end the game with a final score of 105-69.

Offensively Freddie Ricks lead the way with 26 points while going 7-12 from three, and Adam Kanafani with 16 points and going 4-6 from three.  The Celts had four players reach double-digit points with Calen Anderson scoring 11 and freshman Nick Anderson scoring 12.
