Gents Fall to Louisiana College, 8-2

PINEVILLE, La. - Centenary (18-10) lost its final road non-conference game of the season to Louisiana College (16-9) 8-2 Monday night, April 9.

In the top of the eighth after sophomore Cody Crowder's two-out single, junior Cameron Guin hits his first home run of the season and third of his career on a 2-0 pitch. It was the only Centenary runs of the game.

Guin finished the game 3-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. Senior Jackie Allen (0-2) took the loss, allowing seven hits and four runs in 1.2 innings pitched.

After scoring a single run in the first, the Wildcats struck for three in the second. Two singles and a bunt hit loaded the bases. Zane Corbell plated the first run and moved everyone up 90 feet with a hit to right. With two outs, Sully Martin drove in a pair with a single to open up the Wildcats four run lead.

Duncan Cornfoot added a two-run home run in the sixth for Louisiana College.

Blaine Ouber led the Wildcats from the plate with four hits in four at-bats with a run scored and an RBI. Blayne Haro (3-3) picked up the win, allowing just two hits with a strikeout in two innings of work.

Centenary takes on Texas Lutheran this weekend for its final road games of the 2018 regular season. First pitch in Seguin, Texas, is set for 7 p.m. Friday night, April 13.
