DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision against University of Dallas on Friday at the Saints Field.

The Saints fell behind early 1-0 on a Crusaders (3-0-0) goal in the sixth minute. Despite getting down early on, they tightened up their defense and held Dallas the rest of the first half. On the offensive side in the first half, CSS attempted seven shots, but unfortunately none had gone in as they'd hoped.

In the second half, St. Scholastica let up another goal, getting down 2-0. Again, CSS was getting quality scoring chances, but continued to come up empty including Jordan Finneran (Newmarket, England/Cambridge Regional College) hitting the crossbar in the 52nd minute. The Saints finally broke through in the last five minutes of the game when Ken Pryde (Fareham, England/Barton Peveril College) was able to head one in off a Finneran free kick to make the score 2-1. The Saints had more scramble opportunity in the box in the final two minutes, but came up empty and fell 2-1.

CSS finished the game with a total of 19 attempted shots, and Dallas finished with a total of 4 attempted shots.

Notable Performances
Finneran led the Saints with three shots and two shots on goal.
Dallas' Hayden Hampton had six saves.
