Bulldogs Blank Centenary 1-0

SEGUIN, TX -- Sophomore Savannah Rush (Yuma, AZ/ Yuma Catholic) scored in the 18th minute from an assist from Brittany Casarez (McKinney/McKinney North) and freshman Madison Johnson (Pflugerville/Hendrickson) made saves on the only two shots on goal as Texas Lutheran defeated Centenary (LA) 1-0 Friday night for their second win of the season.

The Bulldogs improve to 2-4 on the season thanks to Rush's goal - her first goal of the season. Rush's first half goal gave the Bulldogs the advantage and the Bulldogs met the challenge defensively for the remainder of the half not allowing a shot on goal with Charleigh Phipps (Dripping Springs/Dripping Springs) in-goal. The Bulldogs maintained the advantage throughout the second half closing out a 1-0 victory.

For the match, Texas Lutheran outshot Centenary 17-8 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
