GEORGETOWN, TEXAS- Women's basketball (1-12) hosted the Austin College Roos (3-10) on December 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Corbin J. Robertson Center. The Pirates took the early lead and held on for the 59-49 victory over the Roos. 

 

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Aniyah Burke narrowly missed a double-double with 9 rebounds and 25 points. 

  • Ellie Ward earned a double-double with 11 rebounds and 14 points, going ⅞ from the free throw line. 

  • Lauren Stevens was perfect from the free throw line and finished with 10 points and 5 boards. 


NOTES:

  • Aniyah Burke scored 10 consecutive points for the Pirates in the 4th quarter

  • The Pirates shot 16/18 for free throws

  • Southwestern outrebounded the Pirates 45-32

  • The Pirates held the Roos to just 4/21 shooting from the 3-point line
