Centre College's Dustin Schulten is named SCAC
Male Diver-of-the-Year for the second straight year and third time
in four years after winning the 3-meter competition and placing
second on the 1-meter board at the 2007 Championships at
Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Ind. With his third
Diver-of-the-Year honor, Schulten trails only four-time winner Nate
Moch of DePauw (2000-2003) as the most decorated diver in SCAC
championship meet history.

Trinity University, which finishes tied for 27th with SCAC foe
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at the 2002 NCAA Division III
Men's Swimming Championships at Miami (Ohio) University in
Oxford, has three top 10 individual finishes. Senior Dylan
Stentiford finishes 10th in the 200 free (1:41.06) and
sophomore Zach Coburn takes eighth in the 200 back
(1:52.29) and 10th in the 100 back (51.75).

DePauw University wins its sixth straight conference
championship by topping Trinity University, 987.5 to 891, at the
2010 SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Ralph R.
Wright Natatorium on the campus of the University of
Louisville. The sixth straight men's swimming title as well as
the program's eight total championships are both
CAC/SCAC records for the sport.

Junior John Cook of DePauw University wins and sets
new conference championship meet records in the 50, 100
and 200 freestyle at the 2009 SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving
Championships at the Tracy Caulkins Competition Pool on the campus
of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. In leading his team to
its fifth straight SCAC title and seventh in the last 11 years,
Cook notches NCAA automatic qualifying standards in all three
events and earns SCAC Swimmer-of-the-Meet honors. His record swim
in the 50 free (20.51) broke the longest standing conference
swimming record on the books - a 20.61 swim from Chuck Seymour of
Sewanee at the 2000 championship meet.

Trinity University senior Dylan Stentiford finishes first in both
the 200 and 500 free at the 2002 SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving
Championships at Sewanee - completing the career
conference championship meet sweep of the two categories.
He also finished first in the 100 free at the 2002
championships. Stentiford, who shared SCAC Swimmer-of-the-Year
honors in 2002 with teammate Ryan Van Der Kar and Rose-Hulman's
Matt Smith, is the first male swimmer in the SCAC era to win
one event four consecutive years and remains one of only four men
to lay claim to the feat - joining other four-time event winners
Rob Alexander of DePauw in the 50 free and 100 free (2005-2008);
Ryan Van Der Kar of Trinity in the 400 IM (2001-2004) and Nate Moch
of DePauw in the 1- and 3-meter boards (2000-2003). Stentiford's
nine career wins at SCAC championship meets ranks third
all-time.

DePauw University senior Rob Alexander earns his second consecutive
SCAC Swimmer-of-the-Year award and completes his career sweep of
the 50 and 100 free events at the 2008 SCAC Swimming & Diving
Championships at the Carroll SID Natatorium in Southlake, Texas.
Alexander won both events at each of the four SCAC championships he
competed, making him the first swimmer in the SCAC era to
accomplish that feat and second total. Bill Brumback of Washington
& Lee (1968-1971) pulled off the same career sweep of the 50
and 100 free when the league was known as the CAC. Alexander
finished his SCAC championship meet career with 10 individual
titles - the second most all time behind Trinity's Ryan Van Der
Kar.

DePauw University finishes tied for 12th (92 points) at the 2009
NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the
University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The Tigers' John Cook
earns one all-American and two honorable mention
all-American honors as he finishes fifth in the 100 free
(44.45) and ninth in both the 50 free (20.17) and 200 free
(1:39.48). The Tiger relay teams set school records and earn
all-American honors in the 200, 400 and 800 free. John Cook, John
Montgomery, Josh Baugh and Steve Klabak swam the 200
(1:21.88) and 400 (3:02.32; school record 3:01.73 in prelims)
free relays and finished seventh in both events. John Montgomery,
Josh Baugh, Charlie Boehme and John Cook finished in 11th
place (6:47.00) in the 800 free relay.

2001
DePauw University finishes 13th (82 points) at the 2001
NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in
Buffalo, N.Y., a then SCAC record finish for a men's team at the
national meet. Senior Dan Garrison caps his career with an
all-America performance by finishing fifth in the 100
freestyle in 46.29 seconds on the final day of the event. The
Tigers earn honorable mention all-American honors in each of the
five team relays with a ninth place finish in the 200 medley relay
(1:34.94) the team's best showing.
Trinity University finishes in 17th place (52 points) at the 2001
Championships, marking the only time in league history that two
SCAC men's programs have finished in the top 20 at one national
championship meet.

Junior Matt Smith of of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, the
SCAC Tri-Swimmer of the Year, earns all-America honors in two
events - finishing sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (57:20)
and seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.90) - at the 2002
NCAA Division III Men's Swimming Championships at Miami (Ohio)
University in Oxford.

Senior diver Nate Moch of DePauw University puts the finishing
touches on an undefeated conference meet career, sweeping the 1-
and 3-meter boards for the fourth consecutive year at the 2003 SCAC
Men's Swimming & Diving Championship at Delta State University.
Moch, the four-time SCAC Diver of the Year and three-time
all-American, is the only diver in conference meet history -
man or woman - to go 8-for-8 on the two platforms during his
championship meet career.

After receiving the league's 2010 Swimmer-of-the-Year award, John
Cook of DePauw University becomes just the second SCAC male
swimmer to earn SCAC Swimmer-of-the-Year honors three times
in a career. In his four years at DePauw, Cook earned 16
All-American honors, including seven as an individual
and nine as a member on a relay team.

The University of the South's Jon Morris finishes third and second
respectively on the 1- and 3-meter boards at the 1999 NCAA Division
III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of
Minnesota - earning all-American honors in both events and leading
Sewanee to a 24th-place team finish.

Sean Valentine of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology becomes the
first-ever male SCAC all-American with a fourth-place finish in the
50 yard freestyle at the 1999 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming
& Diving Championships - held at the University of Minnesota.
In that same event, Trinity University's Joseph Moore (12th
place) and The University of the South's Charles Seymour (15th
place) earned honorable mention all-America
honors. Valentine went on to earn all-American
honors in the 100 breaststroke (sixth place finish) and the 100
yard freestyle (14th place finish - honorable mention). Other SCAC
all-American swimmers at the 1999 national meet include Moore
of Trinity in the 100 free (sixth place) and Dan Garrison of
DePauw in the 100 fly (11th place - honorable mention)

DePauw University establishes a conference record with 1,055 points
and, in turn, claims the largest margin of victory in winning its
third straight SCAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship
held at Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Ind. Trinity
University finished second with 666 points. DePauw's Rob
Alexander was named the SCAC Male Swimmer of the Year after
claiming firsts in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 butterfly and 100
free. The Indiana Tigers won seven of the 13 individual swimming
events and swept all five relays - the only program
to ever accomplish that feat (before or since).

In the closest finish in the history of the championships, Trinity
University holds on to defeat DePauw University, 944.5 to 934 at
the 2001 SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship at Palo Alto
College in San Antonio, Texas - the first conference championship
meet to be held off campus.

Senior Ryan Van Der Kar wins his (then) unprecedented third
consecutive SCAC Male Swimmer-of-the-Year award to lead
the Trinity University men to their fourth SCAC men's swimming
and diving championship in competition held at Delta State
University in Cleveland, Miss. The Texas Tigers finish with 861
points to DePauw’s 773 points. Van Der Kar posts wins in the
500 free, the 200 fly and the 400 IM - giving him 11 career
individual titles in SCAC championship meet competition, the most
of any male swimmer in league history.

1999
Twenty six years after the league last staged a championship
in the sport (1973), the Trinity University men win the
inaugural SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship -
out-pointing second-place DePauw University, 813-774. The event was
held on the campus of The University of the South in Sewanee,
Tenn.

The DePauw University men finish in 11th-place (126 points) –
the best finish for any SCAC men’s swim program – at
the 2008 NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming and Diving
Championships at Oxford, Ohio on the campus of Miami University.
The Tigers earn all-America honors in the 200 free relay (1:22.80
– sixth place), 400 free relay (3:02.41 – fifth place),
800 free relay (6:52.56 – 11th place) and 200 medley relay
(1:33.27 – ninth place). Rob Alexander, John Cook, Greg Nowak
and Steve Klabak swam the 200 and 800 free while Alexander, Cook,
Klabak and Josh Baugh swam the 400 free and 200 medley relays. John
Cook also picked up individual all-America honors in the 50 free
(20.53 – 11th place), 100 free (45.24 – seventh place)
and 200 free (1:42.27 – 15th place) while Rob Alexander was
also a three-time individual all-American for his performances in
the 50 free (20.69 – 12th place), 100 free (45.49 –
11th place) and 100 butterfly (49.54 – eighth place).

The DePauw University men's 200-yard freestyle relay of Josh
Baugh, Johnny Montgomery, Steve Klabak and John Cook post both the
program's and the SCAC's best national finish ever by placing
second at the 2010 NCAA Division III Championships at the
University of Minnesota. The Tigers' time of 1:21.64 broke the
school record of 1:21.88 set by the same four at last year's
Championships. Baugh, Montgomery, Klabak and Cook went on
to record a fifth-place finish in the final event of the
championships - the 400-yard freestyle relay - two days later to
lead the DePauw men to a 13th place finish (90 points) - the
third best team finish at the national meet in program history.

March 20-22, 2003
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Matt Smith
becomes the first swimmer in school and conference history to win
an individual national championship with his efforts in the
100-yard breaststroke at the 2003 NCAA Division III Men’s
Swimming and Diving National Championships at Emory (Ga.)
University.
Smith, who took top honors in the event with a 56.20
finish, followed up his championship performance with a
swimming program school-record fourth career all-American award by
finishing fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of
2:04.73. The fifth-place time was a personal-best for Smith and
another Rose-Hulman school record.
In the final 2003 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving
team standings, Rose-Hulman finishes 22nd while fellow SCAC members
DePauw University and Trinity University finish 31st and
34th, respectively.
