In the first match, the Southwestern University men defeated Centenary College 5-0. The Pirates swept doubles to take a 3-0 lead, then followed it up with a pair of shutout wins in singles play by Rod Khansari and Neik Khansari. In the final match of the day, Colorado College and Austin College competed for more than six hours to decide who was moving onto the semifinals to face Trinity University tomorrow. The Tigers took a 2-1 lead heading into singles play, but the 'Roos were able to even it up with wins at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5, while CC picked up the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. It came down to the No. 6 match, as Colorado College's Casey Shaw and Austin College's Daniel Oxenreiter took their match to three sets. Shaw was victorious, 5-7, 6-0, 6-2.
