
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Trinity (Texas)
University women’s cross country team dropped to the No. 13
position in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings. In the USTFCCCA regional
polls, Trinity kept the No. 1 South/Southeast regional ranking for
the sixth consecutive week.
Trinity (Texas) University women’s cross country team placed
fourth of 37 squads last Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Cross
Country Invitational.
Trinity completed the 6k event with 126 points, just two behind
third-place Washington (Mo.), and six in back of the runner-up
University of Chicago. Calvin College (Mich.) was the team
champion, with 71 points, at the Lake Breeze Golf Club. The Tigers
outdistanced fifth-place finisher Hope College (Mich.), which
registered 180 points. Four Tiger runners finished in the top-35
standings, out of some 509 competitors.
Trinity’s team was fresh off a win two weeks ago at the
Hanover DIII Pre-Nationals Invitational in Hanover, Indiana.
The Trinity teams will defend their titles November 2nd at the
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at
Shreveport, Louisiana.
