
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Trinity
(Texas) University women’s cross country team have kept the
No. 9 spot for three consecutive weeks in the national poll
released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA) for week four. In the USTFCCCA regional
polls, Trinity received the No. 1 South/Southeast regional ranking
for the fourth straight week.
Trinity (Texas) University women captured the team title of the
Division III Cross Country Pre-Nationals Invitational Saturday at
Hanover College. The Trinity Tigers scored 44 points in the meet,
leading a field of 18 teams. Six of the Tiger women’s runners
placed in the top-35 of the 6k race – of some 228
entrants.
Part of the Tiger team competed Saturday in the Alamo City Duals at
San Antonio’s Olmos Basin, placing second among DIII schools.
The Tiger women hit the road October 19 for the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh meet at Winneconne, Wisconsin.
