Lauren Crabtree, Southwestern University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 8)

LAUREN CRABTREE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore setter from Dallas, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 14 through Sunday, October 20.

Crabtree averaged a triple double of 10.0 kills, 15.25 digs, and 25.5 assists per match, accomplishing the feat twice in wins over Dallas and Schreiner. She is one of 21 players in all of Division III this season to post multiple triple-doubles, as well as the only player in the SCAC to stat a triple-double this year. She also contributed seven block assists and six service aces while hitting .243 to lead the Pirates to a 3-1 weekend in conference play. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Alyssa Ajlouny of St. Thomas toatled 46 kills averaging 3.29 kills per set, including 12 kills in three of the team's matches. Sophomore Christine Royalty of Austin led the 'Roos averaging 3.06 kills with a .283 hitting percentage and totaled 12 blocks. Royalty hit double-figures in kills in four of five matches, including 13 kills in three of the team's matches. Sophomore Dayjah Whyte of Dallas led the Crusaders with 55 kills averaging 3.67 kills per set and hit .310 over four. Whyte produced team-highs for kills in three of the contests, including a season-best 21 over Centenary College. Senior Jordan Mullen of Colorado hit .348 and averaged 4.44 kills per set. In the three-set win over Dallas, Mullen produced 14 kills and 12 digs for her fourth double-double of the season and the 10th of her career. Sophomore Lexi Acevedo of Trinity led the Tigers in assists in every match, including 17 assists in two sets against Johnson & Wales, and 22 assists in their win over Texas Lutheran. She averaged 6.50 assists per set, along with double-digit digs in two of the matches, leading the team with 22 assists in the 3-1 win over St. Thomas. Sophomore Peyton Sulak of Texas Lutheran led TLU contributing 14 kills and 10 digs with a .357 hitting perce tage in the four-set win over St. Thomas. For the week, she hit .241 with 30 kills on 79 total attempts. She also recorded five total blocks, 26 digs, and four service aces. Sophomore Rachel Demerjian of Centenary broke the single-game school record for assists, with 66 in a 3-2 victory over Schreiner, totaling 163 assits over the weekend. She also added 45 total digs averaing 2.81 digs per set.
