ANNIE ROSE LEGGETT OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior outside hitter from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 28 through Sunday, November 3.
Leggett had a career-high 20 kills in the win over East Texas Baptist on Saturday. She added three aces and 13 digs in both matches, tying for the team lead in digs this week. Leggett also hit .333 for the week and avaeraged 3.86 kills per set throughout the two matches.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Margo Spaethling of Colorado College lead with eight kills in victory over Johnson & Wales on Friday. Spaethling hit .312 on 16 attacks while also having a hand in five blocked shots as CC held the Wildcats to a -.033 hitting percentage. Sophomore Peyton Sulak of Texas Lutheran collected 32 kills and 15 total blocks as the Bulldogs went 2-1 in matches last week. In win over Hardin-Simmons, she had five kills and five blocks. In the Bulldogs win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, she had 11 kills and seven blocks. Sulak also collected 16 kills, hit. 533 and had three blocks in match against Concordia Texas. Freshman Riley Brantley of Southwestern led the Pirates hitting .333 or above to average a .373 hitting percentage. She scored 26.0 points for an average of 2.4 points per set.
