Dayjah Whyte, University of Dallas, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 6)

Dayjah Whyte of Dallas, a freshman middle blocker from Round Rock, Texas., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 1st to Sunday, October 7th. 

Whyte led the Crusaders to a 3-1 record this week in non-conference play. The freshman posted a .392 hitting percentage while averaging 3.93 kills/set. In all three victories, Whyte registered double-digit kills highlighted by a career-best 22 at Randall. Whyte also combined for six blocks and five service aces. With 14 victories thus far this season, the Crusaders have posted their highest win total since 2014.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

Junior setter Lizzy Counts from Colorado College earned a spot on the all-tournament team at the Washington University Invitational after totaling 18 kills, 148 assists and four service aces. Counts also became the 19th player in program history to reach 100 career service aces in the sweep of UW-Platteville. Southwestern senior outside hitter Jamison Duck reached the 1,000 career kill mark against Mary Hardin-Baylor after recording her third 20+ kill match of the season. Sophomore outside hitter Mayson Kennon paced Austin College with 13 kills and two solo blocks in the Roos’ win over Mid-America Christian. In conference play, senior outside hitter Madeline McKay led Trinity to a 3-1 victory over Texas Lutheran after posting a .364 hitting percentage totaling 15 kills, two blocks and one service ace.
