LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Week seven saw nine of the ten SCAC Volleyball teams hit the court with almost all the action involving non-conference match ups.  

In the lone conference match of the week, Southwestern traveled to Texas Lutheran Thursday, as the Bulldogs snapped their 24-match losing streak to the Pirates with a 3-1 victory. Bryten Mitchan led the TLU with nine kills and eight blocks in their match against the Pirates. The Bulldogs (5-5 SCAC; 14-11 overall) also posted a pair of wins over Belhaven (3-0) and LeTourneau (3-0) on Saturday. 

No.8 Colorado College (9-0 SCAC; 21-2 overall) also went 3-0 over the week at its home invitational with wins over Illinois College (3-0), Randolph-Macon (3-0) and DePauw (3-0). With CC’s victory over Randolph-Macon, Head Coach Rick Swan picked up his 600thcareer win. 

No.10 Trinity (8-1 SCAC; 20-4 overall) hosted its Trinity Fall Classic going undefeated with wins over UC Santa Cruz (3-0), Ohio Northern (3-1), Mary Hardin-Baylor (3-1) and Rowan (3-0). Emily Ellis was named the tournament MVP finishing the weekend with 42 total kills over the four matches. 

Dallas (4-5 SCAC; 11-14 overall) split it’s four matches at the Baden Invitational over Friday and Saturday. The Crusaders picked up wins over Lakeland (3-1) and Monmouth (3-2). Dayjah Whyte led the way in those two matches with 24 total kills. 

Centenary (5-5 SCAC; 8-15 overall) also split a pair of matches on Friday in the University of Texas-Dallas Tri-Match. In its 3-0 win over Belhaven, Marissa Sandoval posted 25 digs with Ami Powers posting 14 digs. 

Schreiner (2-7 SCAC; 7-14 overall) split its two matches over the week, earning a victory over Howard Payne (3-0) on Saturday. Kayla Lofland led the Mountaineers with 9 kills and 21 digs in the victory.

St. Thomas (3-7 SCACl; 6-14 overall) went 1-2 over the weekend at its home invitational. In Friday’s 3-0 win over Louisiana College, Alaina Lanik led the way for the Celts with 10 kills. 

Johnson & Wales (0-9 SCAC; 2-21 overall) went 0-3 against tough competition over the week. In the team’s tightest match of the week, a loss to Randolph-Macon, Brooke Pexton set a season-high of 16 kills for the Wildcats. 

All ten conference teams are back in action this weekend, with Group Divisional’s being hosted by Trinity and Dallas. Trinity will host Johnson & Wales, Austin College, Texas Lutheran, and St. Thomas while Colorado College, Southwestern, Centenary, and Schreiner will visit Dallas.
