LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - All nine Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball squads were in action this week with Colorado College and Texas Lutheran hosting a Crossover and a Divisional, respectively.
No. 5 Colorado College posted a perfect 3-0 mark on its home court, defeating Southwestern (3-0) and Austin College (3-2) on Friday and Centenary (3-0) on Saturday. The Tigers improved to 10-1 in conference play, solidifying their second-place standing in the SCAC.
No. 10 Trinity picked up a pair of victories over Schreiner (3-1) and Texas Lutheran (3-0) at the A Divisional at TLU. The victories leave Trinity atop the SCAC standings with a perfect 10-0 league mark.
Southwestern (8-3 SCAC) went 3-1 in Colorado. After dropping its first match to CC, the Pirates picked up three straight victories with wins over Johnson & Wales (3-0), Dallas (3-0) and Austin College (3-1).
Austin College (5-5 SCAC) also played four matches while in Colorado, ending the weekend with a 2-2 mark. The 'Roos picked up victories over Johnson & Wales (3-1) and Dallas (3-1). The victory over the Crusaders evened the series between the two and could be a big result in the battle for conference tournament seeding as just one match separates Austin College, Dallas and Centenary.
Texas Lutheran (3-7 SCAC) split its two matches on its home court. The Bulldogs swept Schreiner (3-0) before dropping its finale on Saturday to Trinity.
Dallas (5-6 SCAC) picked up its only win in three matches against Centenary, defeating the Ladies, 3-0. Centenary (4-6 SCAC) earned a 3-2 victory over Johnson & Wales for its lone victory on the weekend.
Conference play continues Friday as Austin College hosts Centnary and Southwestern at the B Divisional. The A-C Crossover gets underway the following day and continues through Sunday at Trinity as Colorado College, Johnson & Wales, Schreiner and Texas Lutheran travel to San Antonio.
