Trinity's Jenkins Becomes First SCAC Coach to 300 Conference Wins

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Trinity University head volleyball coach Julie Jenkins became the first coach in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference history to win 300 conference contests Saturday at the SCAC Group A Divisional.

A 3-1 victory by the No. 5 ranked Tigers over Texas Lutheran in the day's first match gave Jenkins the mark.

Beginning in 1991, when Trinity began competition in the SCAC, the Tigers stand at 300-31 (.906) in conference regular season play (through today's first match) and have won 18 SCAC championships, including last season's tournament title. Trinity took home the conference trophy for 11 consecutive years from 1998-2008.

Current Trinity head baseball coach Tim Scannell is the next closest head coach to 300 regular season conference victories as he has accumulated 261 SCAC wins in his 19 seasons at the helm.

Jenkins is the winningest coach among active NCAA Division III volleyball coaches. Through today's first match, Coach Jenkins stands at 895-401 (.691) over a 32+ year career and is the third winningest coach all-time among DIII coaches. With her 900th career win, she will become just the 11th coach in the history of the sport across all three NCAA Divisions to achieve that milestone.
