Southwestern Jumps to No. 3, Colorado College Falls to No. 8 in AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III preseason Coaches Top 25 poll Tuesday, and after last week's conference matches, Southwestern and Colorado College changed the order in the national rankings.

After sweeping the cross-divisional last weekend, including a win over Colorado College, Southwestern jumped to No. 3 in the AVCA poll, while CC fell to No. 8. Trinity University is still receiving votes, and has the third most points of non-ranked teams.

Colorado College had a tough weekend, falling to both Southwestern and Trinity on the road. The Tigers bounced back with wins over Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner, however.

Southwestern continued their unbeaten streak to start the season and moved to 17-0 after adding four more wins.

The two teams will take a break from conference play this weekend. Colorado College will face Johnson & Wales University and Colorado Christian, while Southwestern will have the weekend off before facing Huston-Tillotson next Tuesday.
