LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III Top 25 poll for the fifth week of competition. Colorado College (19-1) rose one spot from 9th to 8th. Southwestern University (15-2) did not compete last week, but maintained their ranking at 17th.
The Tigers had a strong weekend defeating 19th-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 15th-ranked Elmhurst and Cornell College. CC had a stellar come from behind votory on Friday to defeat Wisconsin-Oshkosh 3-2 behind the play of SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, Sophie Merrifield who posted 28 digs.
Merrifield and the Tigers went on to defeat Elmhurst 3-0 and Cornell 3-1. They are back in action on October 10th against Austin College. Southwestern takes on Mary Hardin-Baylor at home on October 6th.
