
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Colorado College (18-1, 6-1) dropped to the No. 11 ranking while Trinity (Texas) University (17-3, 7-0) earned the No. 23 spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 poll for week four. Southwestern University also received votes for the Top 25 poll.
Over the weekend, Trinity University handed a 3-2 loss to 10th-ranked Colorado College - its first loss of the season - on Sunday in the first showdown between the volleyball rivals since the 2012 SCAC championship match, which Colorado College won in straight sets at Reid Arena.
Colorado College bounced back for a 3-1 triumph over Texas Lutheran immediately after their first loss. The Tigers won three of four matches for weekend, but saw its school-record season-opening 17-match winning streak come to an end.
Colorado College steps outside conferÂence play next Friday and Saturday when Hamline University, the University of La Verne and Nebraska Wesleyan University visit Reid Arena.
Trinity University swept the competition at the SCAC Cross Divisional over the weekend. The Tigers have won eight consecutive matches, and remain unbeaten at 7-0 in SCAC play.
Trinity will play a single match this week, hosting Our Lady of the Lake University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The Tigers resume SCAC action next weekend in Seguin, Texas.
