SEWANEE, Tenn. - Joe Dombrowski has stepped down
as Sewanee's head volleyball coach after finishing his fourth
season as Sewanee's head volleyball coach in 2008. He also assisted
with Sewanee's track and field program while on the Mountain and is
planning to pursue career opportunities beyond college
athletics.
With 15 years of collegiate coaching experience (volleyball &
cross-country/track & field), the Baltimore native came to
Sewanee after serving as assistant cross country/track & field
coach for the 2004-05 school year at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y.
He has a political science degree from Goucher College (1993) and
an associate of arts degree in political science from Essex
Community College (Md.). Dombrowski earned varsity letters in
cross-country (team captain), swimming and track and field at
Goucher and in cross-country and track and field at Essex.
Coach Dombrowski's wife, Michele, is the women's lacrosse coach at
Sewanee. The couple has two daughters - Anja, born in August
2006 and Kira, born in May 2008.
