JULISSA RODRIGUEZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Deer Park, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for meets held from Monday, February 27 through Sunday, March 5. SCAC Track & Field Weekly Release - Week 1
Rodriguez competed well in all the throws at the Trinity Invitational, finishing fourth in the shot put 11.79m (38-8 1/4), sixth in the javelin 31.28 (102-7), eighth in the hammer 41.47m (136-1), and 12th in the discus 34.00m (111-6). Her shot put effort is currently ranked fifth in Division III.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Madeline Wietstruck of Trinity placed third in the pole vault at the Trinity Invitational with a mark of 3.2m, which was a new personal best. She also placed second in the triple jump with an outdoor pr of 10.9m. First-year Shinaya Branch of Centenary posted a mark of 4.81m at the Mississippi College Season Opener to place 17th.
