HANNAH BRUCE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Friendswood, Texas, has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday, February 24th.
Bruce finished with two top-three finishes last weekend to help lead the Pirates to a sixth-place finish at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational. The junior won the hammer throw with a toss of 41.64 meters and finished third in the discus with a toss of 31.46 meters.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Tia Hart Texas Lutheran University showed well in her first collegiate meet winning the javelin with a mark of 37.54 meters. Hart added a third-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 10.96 meters.
