DIANA HASSINK OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday March 4th.
Hassink had a strong weekend at the Marc Randle Classic. In the shot put, she bested her previous personal record, set a new UD school record, is now ranked first in the SCAC after finishing second overall with a throw of 11.98m (39' 3.75").
Hassink also threw 33.82m in the Hammer Throw for eighth at the meet. The mark was further than any throw before the SCAC Championships last year.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Camille Weaver of Colorado College marked a conference leading 17' 3 3/4" in the long jump and high jumped 5'1 3/4" at the Willamette Opener. Junior Stella Affognon of Trinity University won the shot and discus at the Trinity Open with new personal best of 34.20m and 11.25m, respectively.
