TLU's Gonzalez Guerra named Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. --  Texas Lutheran graduate Maria Gonzalez Guerra has been named to the Academic All-District® 8 First Team for Women's Cross Country and Women's Track & Field, and she has advanced to the national ballot for consideration as an Academic All-American®.

Gonzalez Guerra graduated this past May with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Accountancy.

Gonzalez Guerra posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average in her undergraduate courses and a perfect 4.0 GPA in her master's level courses.

With her 4.0 GPAs, Gonzalez Guerra was a Summa Cum Laude graduate for both her bachelor's and master's degrees.

A three-year letter-winner for the Bulldogs, Gonzalez Guerra was a sprinter on the Bulldogs' SCAC runner-up squads in 2019 and 2021. She competed in the 100, the 200, and 400-meter dashes.

A two-time member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll, Gonzalez Guerra also was a member of the Alpha Chi, Alpha Mu Gamma, and Delta Mu Delta National Honor Societies.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, Second, and Third Team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-August.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
