HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After claiming individual titles on Friday in the 3000 meter steeplechase, the pole vault and the triple jump, Trinity came back on Saturday and took top honors in the 100 meters (Nkolika Nweke, 12.04), 400 meters (Katie Groke, 57.92), 100 meter hurdles (Abigail Schneebeck, 15.07), the high jump (Makenna Bentley, 5' 1 3/4") as well as the 4x100 relay (48.09).
  • Texas Lutheran's Meredith Berger earned SCAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Meet honors by winning the hammer throw (131' 2"), the shot put (40' 1/2") and finishing second in the javelin and fifth in the discus. 
  • Texas Lutheran student-athletes also earned top honors in the 200 meters (Ashley Myers, 24.76), 800 meters (Ashley Rynard, 2:21.45), the long jump (Cortnee Priour, 18' 8 1/2") and the discus (Brielle Brown, 124' 4")
  • Colorado College took two more individual gold on Saturday as Katie Sandfort took first in the 1500 meters (4:45.63) and Leah Wessler won the 5000 meters (17:49.45). The Tigers also earned the program's first-ever relay win in SCAC championship competition - a victory in the 4x400 in a time of 4:00.48.
