Five SCAC Squads Recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Scholar Teams of the Year and All-Academic Team honors for the 2016-17 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons were announced Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Complete Release

Colorado College was the only SCAC institution to have both its men's and women's teams recognized. The CC men posted a team GPA of 3.377 while the women led all SCAC teams with a 3.522 GPA.

On the women's side, in addition to Colorado College, Trinity University (3.375 GPA), the University of Dallas (3.27 GPA) and Texas Lutheran University (3.141 GPA) were all recognized as All-Academic Teams.

A total of 294 teams (183 women's, 111 men's) were honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA.

The highest cumulative GPA of any team belonged to the women from Saint Vincent College. The Bearcats held down a GPA of 3.727 to edge Mount Holyoke College's 3.72.

California Institute of Technology and Middlebury College tied for the men's lead with cumulative GPAs of 3.62.
