Cushing, a senior from Colleyville, Texas, and Levy, a sophomore from Camarillo, Calif., earned an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles to ensure No. 14 Trinity would be in the lead heading into singles play against UT-Dallas on Sunday. The Tigers would eventually pull away for the 7-2 victory on Sunday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jenny Reynolds and first-year Nataly Velasco of St. Thomas picked up the 8-6 victory over their opponents from McMurry in a line two thriller on Saturday. Junior Daniella Rodriguez and first-year Mackenzie Griffin of Schreiner went 1-1 on the weekend at No. 2 doubles, picking up an 8-4 victory over their counterparts at Covenant (Ga.) on Saturday to help propel the Mountaineers to the 6-3 team win.
