
ELODIE RICHARD OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year from Allen, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 15 to Sunday, March 21.
Richard notched the clinching points in both of the Tigers' road wins over the weekend, defeating both East Texas Baptist and the University of Texas-Dallas. Richard started with a 6-0, 6-1 win at line five singles to vault the Tigers to a 9-0 shutout of ETBU. On Sunday, she broke a 4-4 tie with her third-set tiebreaker 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) win at #5 singles to lift Trinity to the narrow 5-4 win.
Richard has a 6-4 singles record in her first-year campaign and she has earned the match-clinching win in four of the team's five victories this year.

Sophomore Nina Mitrofanova of Southwestern defeated Colorado College's Magdalene Gonzales (6-3, 6-3) at No. 1 singles in a Pirate 9-0 sweep last week.
