SYDNEY WAHL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a first-year from Vancouver, British Columbia, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 8 to Sunday, March 14.
Wahl picked up two wins last week, defeating NCAA Division I Prairie View A&M's Anette Lira (6-2, 6-2) in No. 6 singles in the Pirates' 6-3 victory, then defeating NCAA Division II Texas A&M Kingsville's Milou Ter Morsche (7-6, 6-0) in No. 5 singles.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Senior Zoe Kaffen of Trinity swept Texas Lutheran's Mary Eby, 6-0, 6-0, in line-one action in Trinity's SCAC-opener Friday, then took on NCAA I Air Force in No. 1 play Saturday, taking four games from the Falcons' Meredith Jones, 6-0, 6-4. Zoe is undefeated against NCAA III opponents, 3-4 overall. Sophmore Alejandra Lopez of St. Thomas swept LeTourneau's Sierra Giesen, 6-0. 6-0, at No. 2 singles on Friday.
