ANDREA DE LEON AND FRANCESCA CANJAR OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, have been named the SCAC Women’s Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7.
De Leon, a senior from Mission, Texas, and Canjar, a junior from Houston, Texas, went undefeated from line three to lead the 19th-ranked Tigers to wins over Texas-Dallas and Hardin-Simmons. The duo won 8-7 (8-6) against UT-Dallas to start Saturday’s action, giving Trinity a 2-1 lead after doubles play. The pair then finished off a doubles sweep for the Tigers against Hardin-Simmons with an 8-4 victory. De Leon and Canjar are undefeated in three matches as a team this season.
Other Outstanding Performances:
Junior/Sophomore pair Diana Carvajalino/Melody Duong of Austin College played to 2-0 marks with wins over opponents from Colorado College and Texas Lutheran in an undefeated week for the ‘Roos.
