LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis season enters its final week of action following a week where Austin College, Colorado College, Southwestern, and Texas Lutheran all took the court against conference opponents. 

No. 21 Southwestern (14-2) picked up a pair of 9-0 victories over both Colorado College (1-13) and Texas Lutheran. In singles, No. 1 Mary Cardone did not drop a point, winning both of her matches 6-0, 6-0, while No. 2 Esther Bowers was also consistent, defeating both of her opponents 6-0, 6-1. No. 1 doubles Bowers/Cecile Wilde and No. 2 Cardone/Mariana Quetzeri went undefeated against their competition. Against TLU, the line three doubles and five and six singles were determined by walkover. 

No. 19 Trinity (9-5) was undefeated last week with wins over Texas-Dallas, 7-2, and Hardin-Simmons, 9-0. No. 1 Ashley Debauge, No.4/5 Paulina Garcia and No. 6 Jillian Greenberg each went 2-0 while No. 2 doubles Carolina Kutach/Megan Flores and No. 3 Andrea De Leon/Francesca Canjar were unbeaten through both matches. Against Texas-Dallas, the Tigers led 2-1 after doubles and clinched the match after Greenberg defeated Svaksha Iyengar 7-5, 6-2. 

Austin College (8-3) did not drop a set last week, earning 9-0 and 5-0 victories over Colorado College and Texas Lutheran, respectively. In the win over CC, No. 1 doubles Diana Carvajalino/Melody Duong were bothered by Annie Zlevor/Simone Hall but managed to pull out the 8-7 (2) win. The line one singles match was also well-contested by the Tigers, but Duong eventually prevailed, 6-4, 7-6 (6). Against TLU, No. 1 singles Duong and No. 2 Carvajalino each earned wins to clinch the match for the Roos'. 

Earlier in the week, Texas Lutheran (4-8) fell 8-1 to Concordia (Tex.). No. 2 singles Madison Dyer picked up the lone point of the match at line two singles, defeating Leyla Martinez 7-5, 1-6, 1-0. 

In the final week of the regular season, every SCAC women’s tennis team will be in action and each will play at least one conference opponent as teams make their final preparation before the SCAC Tennis Championships, which are scheduled for April 19-21.
