LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Each of the seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis squads concluded the regular season schedule over the weekend.

No. 21 Southwestern (16-2) blanked its competition, defeating Centenary (2-9) on the road on Friday and Mary Hardin-Baylor at home on Monday. The Pirates dominated in doubles play, dropping just one game to its competition all weekend. In singles, No. 3 Chandler Vrba and No. 4 Stephanie Bartusov each won their matches 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0 over Centenary and UMHB, respectively. No. 5 Sara Le and No. 6 Isabel Canelario earned straight-set victories in both of their matches. 

No. 19 Trinity (11-6) was also impressive last week, defeating conference opponents Schreiner and Texas Lutheran (4-10), 9-0, over the weekend after falling to Division II opponent St. Mary's, 8-1, on Tuesday. No. 1 Singles Caroline Kutach was undefeated last week, which included the lone win in the Tigers' loss to St. Marys. Line one doubles pair Mary/Zoe Kaffen went 2-1, posting a pair of 8-0 victories over Schreiner and Texas Lutheran while No. 2 Kutach/Andrea De Leon and No. 3 Francesca Canjar/Megan Flores also played to 2-1 marks.

On Friday, Schreiner (8-8) defeated Texas Lutheran 8-1 on the road. In the match, the Mountaineers dropped its only at line three doubles as the Bulldogs’ Samantha Stafford/Kailtyn Enloe defeated Kate De Los Santos/Kate Woods in a close 8-7 (7-2) match. Schreiner No. 1 singles Jennifer Garcia, No. 3 Kara Miller, No. 5 De Los Santos and No. 6 Woods each won in straight sets. At singles line two, the match between Mountaineer Lauren Stanley and Bulldog Madison Dyer was a tight one, requiring three sets and a first-set tie break to name Stanley the 7-6 (11-9), 5-7, 6-3 victor. The line four singles match also went to extra frames as Schreiner's Katie Smith was able to battle back from an early deficit to take the match, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. 

Colorado College (1-15) dropped a pair of decisions over the weekend, falling to Colorado Mesa, 9-0, on Friday and Metro State, 6-3, on Sunday. Against Metro State, CC earned all three of its point by walkover. 

In its only match of the week, Austin College (8-4) fell to Texas-Dallas, 9-0.

All seven of the SCAC women's tennis teams are set to compete at the 2019 SCAC Tennis Championships this weekend hosted by Austin College in Sherman, Texas. For more tournament information click here.
