DENISON, Texas – Texas Lutheran and Colorado College squared off for the third consecutive year in the SCAC Women’s Tennis Championship and for the first time the Bulldogs emerged victorious Saturday afternoon, 6-3, at the Smith Tennis Center to claim fifth-place. TLU took a 2-1 lead into singles after Madz Dyer and M.P. Hubert claimed victory at the top doubles line, 8-5, and Kaitlyn Enloe along with her partner Sam Stafford staked an 8-4 win at the third doubles position.
In singles action, Dyer, a senior playing in her final SCAC Tournament, secured her second point of the afternoon for the Bulldogs following a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 come from behind victory at the second singles line. Enloe, a freshman, won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 and Stafford clinched the victory for the Bulldogs with a three set, 2-6, 6-0, 6-0, win.
Tess Rubin of Colorado College helped secure two of the Tigers three points in a losing effort, teaming up with Elise Chassman to win at the number two doubles line and earning a three set, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, victory at the top singles line.
Texas Lutheran finishes its season with a 6-11 mark, while Colorado College closes with a 1-17 overall record.
