Trinity Women Advance to Eighth Consecutive SCAC Final with 5-0 Defeat of Schreiner

SHERMAN, Texas -- The top-seeded Trinity University women defeated fourth-seeded Schreiner University, 5-0, in Saturday's first semifinal of the 2019 SCAC Women’s Tennis Championship. Official Website l Bracket l Postmatch Interview

Zoe Kaffen clinched the match for the No. 19 Tigers with her straight set, 6-0, 6-0, victory over Schreiner's Katie Smith.

The seven-time defending champions will take on the winner of Southwestern and Austin College in tomorrow's championship final, scheduled for 8 a.m. CT.

The Trinity women advance to the SCAC title match for the eighth consecutive year and will play the winner of Southwestern and Austin College.  The scheduled time for tomorrow's match has been moved up to 8 a.m. with the anticipation of heavy winds in the afternoon. Schreiner plays in tomorrow's third place match - also at 8 a.m. - and will take on the loser of the Southwestern/Austin College match.
