LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four conference women's tennis teams were on the court this past week, with two kicking off their spring season.

The teams recorded a 5-3 record together, with Austin College recording a pair of wins to lead the way.

The 'Roos opened their spring season with a win over Howard Payne University, 8-1, on the road. They followed that up with an 8-1 victory over Hardin-Simmons University, a team that was ranked #11 in the west region at the end of the 2017 season. Closing out their week, the 'Roos traveled to Abilene to face McMurry University, but fell 5-4. AC took a 2-1 lead into singles and forced tiebreakers in three of the singles matches.

The Bulldogs went 1-0, defeating the University of the Ozarks 6-1 at home, while Trinity's win came against Denison University. The Tigers also took on #9 University of Chicago and #19 Case Western Reserve, but fell to both nationally ranked opponents.
