Women's Tennis Recap - Week Two

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- All of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis teams were in action this week.

The Austin College 'Roos split the weekend, falling to No. 36 University of Texas-Tyler, 9-0, but defeating LeTourneau University in a shutout match.

The Schreiner Mountaineers picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, taking down Concordia University and Sul Ross State by identical scores of 9-0. This is the second win over SRSU for Schreiner this season. The Mountaineers are now 6-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to regionally ranked Hardin-Simmons University.

The Southwestern University women faced UT-Tyler and LeTourneau and went 1-1 on the weekend. Against the nationally-ranked Patriots, SU fell 4-5. They evened out the weekend with a dominating win over LeTourneau, giving up just four set points in singles play through all six matches.

The Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs and Trinity University Tigers met up this weekend, with the Tigers taking the match 8-1. TLU's Sophia Vega earned the Bulldogs lone point, in a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 1 spot.
