Trinity Women's Tennis to Compete in Fifth Straight NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Trinity University women's tennis team will make its fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship tournament this week.

The Tigers earned their fifth straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title this season, defeating Southwestern University 5-1 in the championship match after blanking Schreiner University in the semifinals.

The Tigers will travel to Claremont, California to face off against the University of Texas at Tyler for the second year in row at the NCAA tournament. They will face a similar road to the championship with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps waiting to face the Texas winner.

Last year, the Tigers defeated UTT 5-0, then fell to CMS in the second round.

Trinity defeated UT-Tyler, 7-2, in their final regular season match this year. The Tigers are 14-9 on the season, and stand at 13-6 against Division III opponents with all six losses coming to teams ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) top 20.
