SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Jacob McMindes has been
promoted to be the Head Coach of Trinity's women's tennis team.
Coach McMindes was the assistant coach of the Tiger men’s and
women’s tennis teams last season, and has been Trinity's
men's tennis assistant since 2009.
Prior to joining the Tiger athletics staff, Coach McMindes played
four seasons with the University of Incarnate Word, graduating with
a degree in engineering management in 2009. He was a First
Team All-Heartland Conference player, and made Second Team
All-Region in doubles.
As the Tiger assistant coach, McMindes has won the ITA West Region
Assistant Coach of the Year award for both the men's and women's
teams. He won the men's assistant honor in 2011, then won
again this past year for his leadership with the Trinity women.
A native of San Antonio, Coach McMindes graduated from Samuel
Clemens High School. His older brother, Russell, is the
Trinity men's tennis head coach, and was the Tiger women's head
coach in 2011-12.
