ANNIE BOWENS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a freshman from Westport, Conn., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during meets swam Friday, January 15 to Sunday, January 17.
Bowens was outstanding in a pair of dual meet victories last weekend against Ozarks and Austin College. On Friday against the Eagles, Bowens won the 50-free in 25.53 and touched first in the 100-free in 56.92. She also swam a leg in the winning 400-free relay. She followed that up on Saturday against the ‘Roos by winning the 50 and 100-free in 25.64 and 57.45 respectively before swimming the breaststroke leg in the winning 400 medley relay.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Kristina Sullivan of McMurry earned three individual victories last weekend winning the 1,000- and 500-yard free in a dual meet against Austin College on Friday in 12:14.11 and 6:00.38 respectively. She then picked up the 500-yard free victory against Ozarks on Saturday in a winning time of 5:45.52. Sophomore Rosie Wade of Ozarks finished second in the 1,000-free against Colorado College last Friday with a time of 12:15.43 and then picked up a victory in the 400-IM against McMurry on Saturday with a time of 5:13.26.
