LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's swimming and diving squads took to the pool over the weekend, highlighted by the regular season finale for Colorado College and McMurry.

At the Colorado College Classic the home team took gold, beating its next opponent by 110 points. Junior Jio Chang led the Tiger effort during the three-day event earning victories in the 100 free (54.46), 200 fly (2:14.77) and 100 fly (59.35). Freshman Key Macfarland and Maddie Amick also contributed wins in the 500 free (5:32.78) and 200 back (2:19.18), respectively. Sophomore Emily Erickson secured first in the 200 breast in a time of 2:39.83 while junior Riley Wadhra topped opponents on the 1- (409.80) and 3-meter (395.55) boards. CC also took two relay titles in the 400 medley (4:16.18) and 800 free (8:27.32). McMurry’s top performer at the CC Classic was senior Monica Flores who finished the 200 IM in 2:34.16, good for 11th place.

On Saturday, Southwestern hosted Trinity in a dual meet where the Pirates prevailed 138-111. Southwestern, who honored its three seniors at the meet, had several outstanding performers including sophomore Rehgan Hartsell who earned a pair of individual victories in the 100 (1:10.21) and 200 (2:34.77) breast. Hartsell also teamed up with senior Cara Chin and freshmen Jesse Stovall and Ashley Harmon to win the 200 medley relay finishing in 1:52.10. Stovall added victories in the 50 free (24.70) and 100 fly (59.51) while Harmon took the 200 fly (2:14.75) and 1000 free (11:15.69). Other individual winners for the Pirates included freshmen classmates Natalie Gierat and Catherine Hiebel who won the 200 free (2:02.63) and 100 free (56.74), respectively. 

For Trinity, sophomore Mabel Fowler led the charge, earning victories in the 200 IM (2:13.13) and 100 back (1:00.04). Freshman Libby Goode took the 500 free title in 5:35.05 and senior Ashley Ward edged opponents in the 200 back finishing in 2:17.65. The Tigers championed the 200 free relay completing the race in 1:27.37. TU also hosted divers from SUNY-Fredonia where freshman Maren Merwarth earned gold on the 3-meter board with a score of 207.65.

The University of the Ozarks traveled to Henderson State for a dual meet. Freshman Paige Vire was the top finisher for the Eagles earning a victory in the 100 breast in a time of 1:13.02. 

SCAC women's swimming and diving action continues on Saturday when Southwestern and Trinity make their final splash of the regular season.
