Colorado College Women Lead After Day One of SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Colorado College women hold a narrow 96-92 lead over Trinity after the first day of the 2019 SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship. Official Website | Wednesday's Complete Results | Photo Gallery

The CC women took third in the night's first event, the 200 medley relay - posting a time of 1:51.28. The Southwestern team of Ashley Harmon, Rehgan Hartsell, Jesse Stovall and Cara Chin took home the gold - touching in a time of 1:46.02 which was the second-fastest finish in the history of the event. The win also marked the second consecutive year the Pirate women have won the event. Trinity was second in a time of 1:47.59. Video

Trinity's women broke the first SCAC record of the meet in the 800 free relay, taking first place in a blistering 7:38.43 - almost 20 seconds faster than the second place Colorado College squad. The TU Tigers squad of Morgen Reyna, Abbie Jones, Meghan Magill and Mabel Fowler bettered the mark of 7:38.81 set by Trinity in last year's meet. After CC's second-place time of 7:57.67, Centenary College finished third in 8:07.76. Video
