Five Women's, Three Men's Teams Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for the fall of 2017, with more than 680 collegiate swimming and diving programs earning the honor, including five women’s and three men’s Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.

Colorado College had both programs earne the honor for the eighth time in a row. The women posted a GPA of 3.52, while the men hold a 3.39, first among the conference.

Southwestern University posted the top women's GPA in the league with a 3.53, while the men's team was also honored after recording a 3.18. Trinity University is the third SCAC institution with both the men's and women's teams recognized. The Tiger men hold a 3.11 GPA, while the women have a 3.40.

Austin College and McMurry University also earn the honor for the women's programs, with the 'Roos posting a 3.23 GPA and the War Hawks at 3.08.

For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
