Trinity Holds Slim Lead After Day One of SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship

LEWISVILLE, Texas - Behind wins in both the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay, the Trinity University of women hold a slim 110-100 lead over Colorado College after the first day of the 2017 SCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship. The Texas Tigers quartet of Star Rosales, Lindsay Hagmann, Paige Johnson, and Lauren Cuda took top honors in the 200 medley by touching the wall in 1:48.20. Colorado College's Sarah Dunbar, Kate Guynn, Ellen Silk and Justina Zuckerman finished just .05 seconds behind in second place. Southwestern took the third slot on the awards podium with a finish of 1:50.33

In the 800 free relay, Hagmann, Abbie Jones, Cuda and Rebecca Andruzzi finished in a top time of 7:43.92, beating out Colorado College's Jio Chang, Dunbar, Selma Jukic, and Alma Jukic (7:47.19). Southwestern's squad of Sam Rao, Alexandra Morris, Taylor Adams and Madison Doty placed third in a time of 8:01.98.
