MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference had three student-athletes and one relay team earn All-American honors after the third day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
Trinity divers Lindsay Martin and Hayley Emerick earned their second All-America honors of the weekend on Friday, finishing in the top eight in the 1-meter diving competition. Martin placed third in the women's 1-meter with a score of 441.60 and Emerick placed sixth posting a score of 414.70.
Senior Lis Starr of Centre captured her second Honerable Mention All-American honor in as many days after placing 11th in the 200-yard butterfly. Starr, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, swam the event in a time of 2:05.31.
DePauw University's 800-yard freestyle relay team of John Montgomery (freshman), Josh Baugh (sophomore), Charlie Boehme (junior), and John Cook (junior) swum a school record 6:47.00 to earn Honorable Mention All-American and finished in 11th-place.
Other highlights included DePauw's Amanda Stier (senior) swimming a 2:07.00 in the women's 200-yard butterfly. The time was just short, by fifty-four hundreths of a second, of All-American honors.
The DePauw men sit tied for 15th-place with 54 points after day
three. On the women's side, Trinity sits in 14th-place with 59
points while Centre is tied for 23rd-place with 21 points.
