SCAC places two individuals; one relay team as All-Americans after second day of NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference had three student-athletes and one relay team earn All-American honors after the second day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

The DePauw University men's 200-yard freestyle relay team of John Cook (junior), John Montgomery (freshman), Josh Baugh (sophomore), and Steve Klabak (junior) swum a school record 1:21.73 to earn All-American Honors and finished in seventh place.

Highlighting the individual All-American performances for the SCAC was senior Lis Starr of Centre College. Starr earned Honorable Mention All-American in the women's 100-yard butterfly finishing in ninth place with a time of 56.42.

John Cook of DePauw later swam in the men's 200-yard freestyle finishing ninth in a time of 1:39.48. Cook, who earned Honorable Mention All-American with his performance, now has 10 such All-American Honors in the last two years including five in individual events and five as a part of relays.

The DePauw men sit in 14th-place with 42 points after day two. On the women's side, Trinity is in 14th-place with 30 points while Centre stands in 21st-place with a total of 21 points.
