
KLARISSA MARTINEZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a first-year forward from Southlake, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, October 24th through Sunday, October 30th. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 9)
Martinez led the Bulldogs with three points in last Friday's decisive win over Southwestern - notching a goal and an assist against the Pirates. The win secured the No. 2 seed for the Bulldogs heading into this weekend’s SCAC Tournament. Martinez is now second in the SCAC in both points (22) and goals (10).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder Emma Cerda of St. Thomas was key in the Celts’ victory over SCAC foe Centenary last Friday. She rang home the game-winning goal and then added an assist to finish the game with three points, tying her career high in a single fixture. Sophomore forward Hanna Khan of Trinity drove in the game-winning goal to close out the Tigers’ regular season with a 3-0 win over Schreiner. Khan scored in the 20th minute of the game from just inside the 18-yard box to push the Tigers to the win and clinch an undefeated SCAC season.
