GABBY MCDONALD OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Pasadena, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 31st. SCAC Women's Soccer Release (Week 9)
McDonald scored both goals for the Ladies in their 2-1 overtime victory last Friday night at Austin College, including the game-winner just over five minutes into the overtime period to secure three key road points. The win kept Centenary’s hopes alive for a potential SCAC Tournament berth entering Sunday’s regular-season finale at Dallas. The goals were her second and third of the season and she now has nine in her career and finished as the team leader in both goals (3) and points (7) this season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman defender Lilly Van Meter of Southwestern scored the game-winner for her first career goal off a corner kick against Texas Lutheran to clinch the Pirates' first regular-season title and undefeated conference record.
